Smell The Beauty

March 28, 2011 by

Someone asked me once when I was younger, “If you had to choose a season four, which would you choose as your favorite?” At that time I did not give it a second thought, I said “summer.” I think I gave the answer, because it is a beautiful time of year when a child or adolescent is between. Summer is a bad time, a time for fun in the back, swimming in the lake, hiking, and especially not school. When I was a kid the summer was a time to sleep late and spend hours doing outdoors, who likes to play most of the children.

But after having thought about it, I got a surprising result. Being born and raised on the East Coast of the United States, I’m used to living with the seasons. So, I was amazed that I different climatic zones and the temperature refers to the way each season, even if the temperatures and climate change dramatically, and sometimes very quickly.

Summer is a magical season. Everyone likes to participate in outdoor activities and sun, but I must admit, I just sit in the sun and enjoy a summer day. It’s great to see, hear and feel the sweetness of summer. Bees pollinate the flowers, hamburgers on the barbecue, a picnic and spend time with family and friends to add the pleasures of summer life.

Fall is also a popular time to turn the natural beauty of trees whose leaves are orange, red, yellow and brown. There is a smell of wood smoke and just plain cold outside. A fun time is hayrides, pumpkin carving and tasty beers witching hour on holidays. Not to mention the sumptuous meals and desserts, we all eat on Thanksgiving.

And I like winter. Winter is a time for red cheeks and nose, hot chocolate, sledding and a few years, hills and mountains of snow. Winter is also the time of year that we celebrate my favorite holiday, Christmas. The holiday season with so much joy and hope, which unfortunately seems to disappear completed in early January. I must admit I’m usually happy to come to an end when the winter. I do not particularly care for cold weather. By the time March rolls around, I am more than ready for spring.

Spring is a time of awakening and new life. Even as a citizen, I can appreciate the sights, sounds and especially the smell of a spring day. Seeing a flower starting to flower and grass growth begins. People out of their shell and celebrate the richness of spring more time to get back to nature.

Have you ever had one foot and felt the silence of a spring morning? It is to do one of my favorite things. Stroll through a park bench and sit down, close your eyes and let the sun and the wind caress your face. Listen to the birds communicate with each other. Notice what sounds the birds make. It can be glorious.

Sit still during a spring storm when Mother Nature does a light show and purifies the earth, fills me with joy. It is the intoxicating nature show you’ve ever seen. The next time someone asks me what my favorite time of year I think I’ll say I love all the seasons with a special fondness for the spring. You just cannot feel the beauty of spring!
